About

About Get Fit NH Bootcamp

Here’s the bottom line: you want to feel and LOOK great! There, that wasn’t so hard, was it? You see, most of us know we need to eat well and exercise to prevent heart disease, diabetes, stroke and a myriad of other highly preventable diseases. But do those things REALLY motivate us to get out of bed in the morning? However when we think about heading to the beach, fitting into that dress, or looking like we did when we were twenty, THAT gets the fires burning! And you know what, that’s OK, because when you train to make the outside look good, the inside gets better too!

After all, the same training that lowers body fat and increases lean muscle mass, helping you achieve that tight, athletic look can also reduce blood pressure and cholesterol levels, help regulate blood sugar and a whole host of other health benefits. In other words, by getting what you want you also get what you need!

Get Fit NH Bootcamp is dedicated to making you look and feel great inside and out. We encourage people of all ages, shapes, sizes and fitness levels to come and be the best that they can be. Even if you regularly work out, we guarantee Boot Camp will challenge you in new ways, and help you achieve results beyond your regular routine. You can expect a wide variety of cardio, resistance, and flexibility training designed to train your body to perform at its best. We all work together, and NOBODY gets left behind! Our training system ensures that no matter if you are a novice trainer or boot camp veteran, you will get the challenge YOU need for your current fitness level.

We have found time and time again that the accountability and support of group training leads to results equal or even superior to costly one-on-one training. Even “average” personal trainers can cost $40 an hour or more. Training at our bootcamps allows the opportunity to work with professional trainers in a dynamic group enviroment for a SMALL FRACTION of expensive one-on-one alternatives. It’s absolutely a win-win!

The Get Fit NH Workout

It’s no secret that there are TONS of ways that people are trying out to get fit. From systems that claim you can get in shape in only 4 minutes a day to spending 2 hours a day on the treadmill, we have seen it all. We have developed a system that cuts through the garbage, based on sound scientific principles AND real world results.

Every day brings something new, but within a system designed to train you in a comprehensive manner. Below is a “typical” days training format:

I. Movement & Mobility – This portion of the training consists of exercises designed to warmup your body for the training to follow. This training may include activation exercises for underused muscle groups and movement preparation exercises designed to dynamically increase joint mobility as well as muscle flexibility.

II. Primary Training – This section of your workout is designed to build lean muscle tissue and mobilize fat using total body resistance exercise. The workouts and exercises are changed daily to keep your training fresh, motivating and fun.

III. The Finisher – High Intensity Intervals are used to further mobilize fat and train your cardiovascular system. This type of training has been shown to be THE most effective cardio in order to preserve muscle and burn fat!

IV. Injury Prevention – We spend quality time every day working on soft tissue and flexibility. Prevention of both acute and long-term injury is key to not only being able to train, but in the ability to perform exercises correctly and with good form.

Every Friday we make sure you finish the week excited about what you have accomplished, and ready to attack the next week even harder. Fridays feature fun workouts designed to build camaraderie and strengthen the new friendships you have made. We have a blast with challenges, team games and spirited competition!

Dean Carlson

Dean CarlsonWhat makes a good physical preparation coach? A passion for helping people train, not only their bodies, but also their minds. A deep desire to help people break out of perceived limitations and achieve their goals, to help move them along the path from “I can’t” to “I DID!” A good coach does not try to motivate, but inspire one to find the drive within himself to do what he didn’t think was possible.

My journey into physical preparation coaching began after achieving for what many years I didn’t think was possible -getting healthy and fit again. You see I was thin in high school, too thin actually. I played sports through school and then my tour with the Army made sure my weight didn’t get too out of hand, even though I struggled even then to maintain standards.

After I left the service, my troubles really begin. Over a number of years I ballooned to 260+ pounds, was having challenges with my blood sugar, out of energy all the time; all the classic symptoms of being vastly overweight and unhealthy. When Nancy and I started having kids again, the realization hit me that if something didn’t change, they wouldn’t have dad around for very long. The result of this realization is a stronger, healthier, leaner and fitter me – 185 pounds and feeling great!

I now have the privilege of sharing my passion with others, from athletes striving for better on field performance to frustrated dieters who just want to get off the diet roller coaster. But my most important client, and the one who deserves to achieve all their goals, is you!

Nancy Carlson

Often the most challenging part of losing weight and staying fit is just getting started. Life is busy, and setting time aside to “work out” is just one more thing to add to the list. As a mom of six, with a high maintenance husband (see above), I have this challenge as well. Frankly, like most people I know, I am a work in progress. I believe this is part of what makes a good trainer – the ability to relate to clients and understand the need to integrate an exercise program into a busy lifestyle, without neglecting other responsibilities.

I can relate to late nights and early morning due to a baby in the house or a sick preschooler. I understand relaxing my food standards at the Fourth of July picnic and at Christmas. And I understand being mentally exhausted to the point that I don’t even want to THINK about training.

But I didn’t just throw up my hands and give up, and neither should you. It is not only possible to reach your fitness goals – it will happen! I am living proof. I may not be Mrs. Fitness USA yet, but I have reached goals that others said were just not possible after having six kids and crossing the big 4-0.

My passion is teaching and coaching others to think big and reach high. It takes work – hard work – but I am committed to helping you reach your fitness goals and get in the best shape of your life!

Tyler Yeaton

tylerTyler is a Get Fit NH Bootcamp instructor and also is the lead trainer for Adrenaline Performance Training, our physical preparation and sports training program for high school and college athletes. Tyler is a Certified Professional Fitness Trainer with the National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association.

In his words:

“I am and always has been an athlete, so naturally the type of client I love to connect with, train with, and reach goals with has a passion for excellence in everything they do. To this client; every set matters, total focus on keeping excellent form on every rep matters, and pure efficient determination matters. I’m not a quitter when it gets tough and I try to instill that in every client I work with.

As you might have been able to tell, I love training. I can’t live without it. Just the way it makes my body feel with the amount of energy output I gain or just the simple satisfaction of not being able to do a single pull-up when I first started…to pumping out ten in a row now, no problem, is honestly an amazing feeling.

Goals are an awesome tool for each and every person, but how many people actually take that one first step? The first step is the hardest, just take it and see where it takes you. There’s always a starting point! Make it happen! It’s our boot camp motto and it has great wisdom behind it, you have to “Make It Happen”.

My goal for every client I work with is a greater, more noticeable fitness level. I love hearing clients stories of the little comments they get everyday from family, friends, even co-workers.

Come start your journey with us for a brighter fitness future – I look forward to seeing you soon!”
